Biofertilisers and Biological Inputs

To celebrate World Soil Day, we invite you to an exciting field day on biofertilisers and biological inputs at Elgee Park. The day will be highly relevant to a range of farming enterprises, including horticulture, viticulture and grazing.

Hosting this field day is Elgee Park, a large working farm where wine, cattle, quarter horses, nature and art thrive in a truly unique environment. Elgee Park has been working with Falcon UAV for several years and has been trialling a biologically-focused soil program. The day will include a farm walk to see how these methods are being applied in their vineyard.

You will hear from three local experts in biofertilisers and biological inputs:

  • Daniel Hodges (Soil Water Plants): an introduction to biofertilisers and discussion of what they are, how they benefit your farm and how to make them
  • Luke Weekley Falcon UAV): mapping and assessing agricultural landscapes for precise applications of biology using drones and the latest technology, and a presentation of biological tests taken for precision application of products recommended and selected for Elgee Park
  • Peter Briscoe: assessing farms for biological inputs and the benefits of this approach, biological tests and products to consider and a demonstration of how biological inputs influence above and below ground biomass (clear pot trial).
