Greenvale Reservoir plays a critical role in supplying water to Melbourne’s northern and western suburbs. In November 2024, the Victorian Government committed to reopening the southern section of the park that borders the reservoir.

We worked in partnership with Parks Victoria to deliver this commitment – undertaking basic work to make the area safe, while also protecting Melbourne’s water supplies.

What this project involved

In 2014, the southern parkland was closed to the public while we made critical water supply and safety upgrades to the dam. Once these works were complete, we made improvements needed to reopen the park.

This included:

  • new entry points for pedestrians and vehicles
  • upgraded walking trails
  • toilets
  • barbecues
  • critical vegetation clean-up and tree safety works.
