The Westernport catchment’s waterways have international significance, providing feeding and breeding grounds for hundreds of bird species around the world. But these waterways also help us: purifying our water and playing an important role in drainage across the catchment.

    • Illegally disposing of fill and removing vegetation harms the natural and built environment in the Koo Wee Rup-Longwarry Flood Protection District – and beyond.

      • It can damage how our waterways work and impact property drainage. During heavy rain, increased and changed water flows can put private properties at risk.
      • The materials in landfill are unknown, and unlawful landfill may contain harmful, hazardous contaminants.
      • Plants and animals, including their habitats, can be harmed.

    How can you help?
