We released new flood modelling information for the lower Maribyrnong River catchment in April this year. Through the engagement program that followed, we listened to your experiences and feedback.

Kensington community drop-in session (29 August)

Flood education sessions (May-August 2024)
Melbourne Water, VICSES and councils delivered a community flood education program for the Greater Melbourne area across May and August 2024. The education program aimed to improve community awareness of flood risk and improve knowledge of how to be prepared for floods.
The first areas the program was delivered was to are communities impacted by the 2022 Maribyrnong flood in the Brimbank, City of Melbourne, Maribyrnong and Moonee Valley City Council areas.
There were several events planned for residents to learn how they can find information on flood risk and actions to take before, during and after a flood event to stay safe.
