About Patterson Lakes

The canals and harbours, known as Tidal Waterways, and three Quiet Lakes (Legana, Illawong and Carramar) collectively provide around 23 kilometres of shoreline water frontage to over 1400 homes and businesses.

Special charges

There are two services unique to Patterson Lakes that some residents may be required to pay a separate fee.

User-pays pricing applies to the Tidal Waterways and Quiet Lakes communities (Lakes Legana and Illawong) for jetty access and annual maintenance, as well as an annual bore flushing charge.

Melbourne Water website – services in Patterson Lakes

Every five years Victorian water corporations prepare a Price Submission outlining water prices, service standards, infrastructure and operational investments.

Our Price Submission 2026 details our proposed services in water, sewerage, waterways and drainage between 2026-2031. It will detail the cost of delivering these essential services and the prices we intend to charge customers, including for the direct services we deliver in Patterson Lakes.

Each Price Submission is subject to approval by the Essential Services Commission (ESC), Victoria’s independent regulator, which regularly reviews prices for water and other essential services to protect the interests of consumers.

We’re currently planning our water future with customers and community across Greater Melbourne for our next Price Submission 2026-2031. For the latest updates, timelines and opportunities to help shape our water journey, follow the project on our Price Submission Let’s Talk page.
